Floyd Andrew Kirkland, 82, of Cogar, Oklahoma passed away July 28, 2019. Floyd was born on November 22, 1936 in Spring Creek, Oklahoma. He is the son of Clyde Kirkland and Virgie Stephenson.
Floyd grew up in Spring Creek and that's where he attended school. Spring Creek Schools went 1st through 8th grade, and Floyd graduated out of 8th grade.
Floyd worked in the oilfield up in Guymon and Kansas when he was younger, and that's where he met Clara. He married Clara Pearl Bible of Cherokee, Oklahoma on August 28, 1958. He had 7 children, 3 boys and 4 girls, and raised 1 granddaughter. They lived in Union City until 1964. Floyd and Clara moved to the Pocasset area and that's where they settled. Floyd worked most of his life farming and ranching. He greatly enjoyed working cattle and riding horses.
Floyd loved to have a garden, usually big enough to feed his whole family. He also loved taking care of his chickens and sitting in the yard watching his hummingbirds, he had feeders everywhere. Most of all, he loved his kids and grandkids. If you ever came to his house, you could tell his walls were covered with pictures. He never took one down, he just added to the collection, and he loved it. He also loved hosting family reunions at his house every Memorial Day. He loved seeing everyone, and he always looked forward to it.

We pass through life thinking there are so many tomorrow's. Sometimes tomorrow never comes. Live each day as if there are no tomorrows..
No more pain. No more tears. Resting in the arms of the angels.
