Ricky loved to rodeo, getting on his first bull at age 12 but due to a car accident in high school his rodeo career was cut short. Over the years he found himself going with friends to rodeos. World Champion Bull Fighter Rex Dunn told him "You need to find a job associated with rodeo if you're going to keep hanging out at the events." That following spring he enrolled in a Hastings, OK rodeo announcing school and announced his first rodeo Labor Day weekend 1989. Over the years he announced countless rodeos, being part cheerleader, part entertainer, and part analyst from his perch atop the arena. He had a passion for announcing rodeos with his gift of gab. He encouraged many to follow their dreams in the sport of rodeo. He also worked at a boot and saddle shop in Mustang, OK, and ran R-E boot and saddle shop in Cordell, OK. Ricky will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
