Samantha Ann Moser passed away on June 23, 2025, in Anadarko, OK. She was born on January 7, 1924, to Herschel Urban & Cora (Tyler) Goltry, in Amber, OK. Ann was raised in Amber, OK on the family farm. She told many stories about the depression and how her mother would feed the hired hands during thrashing season. She talked about how the dirt would blow and come in under the windowsills and her mother would wet towels to catch the dirt. Ann would help with her siblings while her parents would tend to the farming operation.
Ann went to college at Oklahoma College for Women, which is now USAO in Chickasha, OK. She would walk 2 miles to the train station to ride the train to Chickasha then walk to the college. At the end of the day, she would walk back to the train station, ride the train back to Amber, then walk the two miles home.
Ann received her degree in Elementary Education. Her first teaching job was in Rush Springs, OK. After teaching in Rush Springs she accepted a job in Cyril, OK. Ann taught at Cyril Elementary School for several years. She met and married Barney L. Moser and they made their home in Cyril and were married 60 years.
Ann was involved with the Garden Club and was an active member of the First Christian Church of Cyril. She made many trips to her children's school activities. She and Barney always planted a garden and canned the produce from it. Ann could sew, refinish furniture but her passion was quilting and reading.
She made each of her children and grandchildren a quilt. She also quilted at the church helping stitch many quilts for other people.
Ann loved her family. She looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and always had something for them to eat. Ann thought everyone liked her zucchini bread, little did she know most family members didn't like it but they always took a loaf home and Barney was grateful for that.
We will close with this:
Our mother was kind, giving, a good listener, devoted wife and mother. She taught us manners, a good work ethic, to always see the good in others, to help those who are less fortunate and if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.
She will be missed dearly.
