He married the love of his life and best friend, Bette Carole Colburn on September 9, 1953 and from this union came 2 beautiful daughters, Lois Carole and Nancy Jo.

He served as a bus driver for multiple ministries, sanctuary choir member, youth sponsor, and helped cook men’s breakfast and countless other church meals including the community wide Christmas dinners. He also served side by side with his wife on the funeral ministry. He served with the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief ministry for many years.
Wilford was known as “Papa” by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he gave Bette Rogers affectionate nicknames. He was known for many wonderful qualities but most famously for his ability to, “fix anything but a broken heart.”
He was proceeded in death by his parents, James W. and Winnie Belle Rogers, his grandparents, his brothers Raymond, Alvin, and Virgil Rogers, daughter Carole Rogers Finn, and grandson William.

God has definately reserved a room in Heaven for one of His hardest working, most giving angels on earth. His spirit will live on in each of the lives and loves that he influenced (which are many). Our prayers are being lifted for all his loves he's leaving behind. God bless!

I often remember what a dear friend told me after my Dad "J.A." died and I felt so inconsolable, she said "remember you know your Dad will have his face pressed up against the gate waiting for you when it is your time." Being able to visualize that has always given me extra strength through the tough times.  And, knowing my Dad, he was waiting on Wilford the same way as he has for every one of our family that came later.  Wilford give him & my Mom a hug for me.  I will always remember you caring a camera around filming us and have watched and enjoyed what you created many times.
Bette, I love you dearly and if there was any way possible I could be there I would.  I am retiring on 5/31 and you above many others know when the Gov't says you have to be there your last 3 days to do paperwork they aren't messing around. Because they have been great and normally would bend over backwards to help me get there.  Please tell everyone hello and give them an extra hug from me.
