First met this prince of an individual in 1976 at Stillwater, OK (OSU). I will remember him always as an intellectual giant, a superior individual & a fine brother to all that knew him closely. We will hunt & fish again my friend, fly smoothly & know that I love you.

Our world has lost one of the good guys.  I was fortunate to have shared some of Life's road with Sammy. He was a generous and caring soul with an outsized sense of humor who I counted as one of my good friends. As others have said, Sam will be missed but not forgotten. I will smile, remembering all the good times we shared.  Robert Earl Keen sang "The Road Goes on Forever ... And the Party Never Ends", that was Sammy. Rest in Peace Sam.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Pam and the Family ...
