Rose Ann Pruitt

March 12, 1944 — October 25, 2026

Rose Ann (Rogers) Pruitt

Rose Ann (Rogers) Pruitt passed away peacefully at her home on October 25th, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Rose Ann (Rogers) Pruitt was born on March 12, 1944, in the family home south of Anadarko, Oklahoma, to William "Bill" Rogers and Bonnie (McCown) Rogers. She grew up surrounded by family and the values of hard work and commitment that would remain a part of her throughout her life. She attended Stecker Elementary School and graduated from Broxton High School in 1962.

In 1982, Rose Ann married Wayne Pruitt, beginning a life together built around family, farming, and ranching. She took pride in being a farmer's wife and in the life they built together over the years. She enjoyed helping Wayne during wheat harvest and taking care of the peanuts, sharing in the work that was part of their farm life. She also had a career of her own, working as an insurance agent and operating Rogers Insurance from 1980 until her retirement in 2013. Rose Ann was generous by nature and always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need, whether it was a family member or one of her insurance customers. Helping others was simply part of who she was, and she carried that spirit of generosity into the many relationships she built throughout her life.

Rose Ann knew how to enjoy life and make memories along the way. She treasured the friendships she shared through her Ladies Club, especially the Halloween parties, when she enjoyed dressing up and joining in the fun. She also loved keeping her hands busy, whether canning, sewing, or creating scrapbooks filled with memories. These were more than hobbies; they were ways of putting a little of herself into the things she made and the moments she wanted to remember. Rose Ann also loved volunteering at the Anadarko hospital as a Pink Lady, where she enjoyed helping others and making lasting friendships.

Traveling with family held a special place in Rose Ann's heart. Early in their marriage, she and Wayne made a tradition of taking a trip to celebrate their anniversary. They would "road trip" around Oklahoma every August. She also loved visiting the Rogers family homestead in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, where she could spend time with family and reconnect with her roots. After many years away, she was able to return to that special place in 2025. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends brought another favorite tradition of camping with family at Mill Creek near Combs, Arkansas, where they enjoyed riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers and spending time together around the campfire.

Rose Ann appreciated the simple pleasures that made life her own. She was proud of the life she and Wayne had built together, and she was especially proud of her red truck, something she had wanted for many years before finally getting one in 2021. It was a special purchase that brought her joy and gave her something she had looked forward to for a long time.

More than anything, Rose Ann cherished her family and the time they spent together. Family gatherings and big dinners were an important part of her life. She fondly remembered the Rogers family tradition of bacon and egg noodles, a meal prepared in large batches by the women of the family and eagerly enjoyed by the men. Those gatherings were about more than food, they were about coming together, sharing stories, and carrying on family traditions.

Rose Ann often said that what brought her the most happiness was seeing and visiting with her grandchildren. She had a special gift for accepting people just as they were, and that acceptance and unconditional love shone especially brightly in her relationship with her grandchildren. She delighted in the simple adventures they shared, whether watching movies together, taking them to play in the creek, searching for treasures at garage sales and flea markets, or joining in whatever they wanted to do. She made them feel loved without condition and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. The time she spent with her grandchildren was among her most treasured blessings.

Faith was also a lasting part of Rose Ann's life. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko, where she attended faithfully and taught Sunday school classes over the years. Her church was an important part of her life and her connection to her community.

Rose Ann is survived by her sons, Ken Beets of Anadarko and Kevin Beets and his wife, Kristi, of Bridge Creek; her grandchildren Kayla Beets of Fort Collins, Colorado; Kyle Beets of Edmond; Chris Pruitt of Anadarko; Dakota Pruitt of Chickasha; Savanna Pruitt of Anadarko; her siblings, Billie Moore and her husband, Ralph, of Dibble; Terry Rogers and his wife, Jane, of Anadarko; and Stephen Rogers and his wife, Terri, of Anadarko. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Pruitt; her stepson, Terry Pruitt; her son, Kris Beets; and her parents.
