I worked for Joy for 9 years as her Secretary. She was so knowledgeable about Indian Education and an advocate for higher education. Very well respected by educators, parents and the children. I cherish the years I worked with her and the staff in Oklahoma City. My prayers are with her family.

My thoughts and prayers are said for Ms. Martin's journey into the spirit world and for the family. I first met Ms. Martin while working for OIEP in 2001. First time I met her she made me cry, but as time passed we became good friends and laughed often about our meeting; a friendship I will cherish the rest of my life. May Creator be with her family and guide them through her journey.
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Joy. I am honored and blessed to have worked for her, until her retirement. She was a wonderful woman. When my mother passed away she gave me comforting words and would always call to see how I was doing. Comfort, prayers, and blessings to the family.
