Gayle, I'm so sad to hear about Sonny's passing. Although I haven't talked to him in a while, I had the pleasure of working with him for several years, and the pleasure to have called him my friend. Sonny had a great listening ear. No matter what he had going on, if you needed to talk to someone about anything, Sonny was there.  He always listened carefully to the issue at hand, and always responded "what can I do to help?" He steered me in directions in my work life that I never saw myself going. Sonny saw the potential in everyone he met. I remember a couple of times in the afternoon asking him, where did you go for lunch today? He would say I went to Sam's, I needed to pick up something over there and I walked around the store and by the time I had tried all the samples of food, I was full. He cracked me up. He loved his family more than anything in the world and that was always his priority. I am a better person for having had Sonny in my life as my mentor and as my friend. I will always miss him. God bless you and your family during this time.

Gayle, Justin, and family, we were so saddened to hear about Sonny.  We were just thinking about you all the other day.  When I worked with you at Kildare School, we were building our house and Ernie got sick with pneumonia and was in the hospital and you were kind enough to invite our son, Marty, to go to Mangum with you for the weekend.  He enjoyed that so much and you will never know how much it helped us out! While our hearts are crying at the passing of Sonny, our souls are rejoicing, knowing that we will see him again.  May God bless you with strength, comfort, peace, and love during these difficult days! With much love, Sue and Ernie
