Nancy Luise Delaney was born on June 1, 1939 in Spokane, Washington and passed away in the Anadarko hospital on December 1, 2019 after a short illness. Nancy graduated from North Central High School in Spokane in 1957. In 1958, she met Charles Delaney in Spokane and they were later married on October 24th, 1958. From this union, 4 children were born.

After her children were in school, Nancy decided to go to college. She graduated from the Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in Chickasha (now USAO) in 1974 and became a teacher. She was a speech and hearing therapist in the Anadarko Public School system until her retirement. She was very proud to be a public school teacher. She also taught speech therapy in the Broxton public school system and the Lawton public school system. During her career, she returned to school and earned a Masters Degree in Human Relations at the University of Oklahoma. Not withstanding, she was a tried and true Oklahoma Sooner fan and attended many football games in days past.

Nancy’s father fled Russia with his mother and older brother during the Russian Revolution in 1917 and eventually settled in Washington State. Nancy and her husband, Charles, traveled extensively during their lives together, including many European countries. She was able to travel to the Soviet Union with her father and Charles in the early 1970’s to meet Russian family members of her late uncle that her father had never met.

It was a perilous trip as her father was a Russian who fled as a child and Russia was still part of the Soviet block. True to Nancy’s character, while there she met a Russian family, Surgie and Olga Suetin, and invited them to her home in Oklahoma. Eventually, they were able to get permission to travel to America and Nancy hosted them for several weeks, after providing a letter from the Anadarko Police Chief that they would be allowed in Anadarko to visit. The FBI also paid a visit to her home inquiring about her relationship with Surgie and Olga. Nancy took her last trip in October with her dear lifelong friend Jody Sorensen to visit her twin sister in Florida.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles, a son, Jeffery, her father, Alexandre Selivanoff, her mother, Laura Renna, her step-father, Sam Renna, her sister, Sandra Johnson and husband Don, her sister Jean Selivanoff, and her son-in-law, Bart McLin.

Survivors left to cherish her memories include son Greg Delaney and wife Katie from Anadarko, their children Jeff and fiancé Kristen Melton from Anadarko, Michkala DeForest from Virginia, Amber Morris and husband Aaron from Japan, Michael DeForest and wife Ashley from Edmond, Mark and Ariel Spear from Anadarko and Abby Trabert from Tahlequah, OK

Daughter Kim McLin from Anadarko and her children Kaley Arthurs and significant other Ryan Milam from Norman, Keaton West and significant other Maegan Cory also from Norman.

Daughter Kathryn (Kitty Kat) Morris and her husband Noel from Norman, their children Brittany Morris-Easley and husband Greg from Argentina, Jordan Morris and her husband Kyle from Norman, and son Scott Morris from Norman.

She is also survived by her twin sister Nikki Gould and her husband Robert from Florida, her brother Frank Renna from California, and her step-mother Leona Selivanoff from Washington State and her lifelong dear friend Jody Sorensen.

Nancy’s great-grandchildren include Raegan Delaney, Kadyn DeForest, Kyler Morris, Kaleb Morris, Gregory Jude DeForest, Millicent (Millie) Easley, Kyrie Spear and Ryan Spear, and she also leaves numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews around the country.

Nancy was strong in her faith and is now home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Nancy was a very special lady.  She was my late son's speech teacher when he was in the first and second grade . When he was in the third grade she would get him at recess and have him help her with the younger students. When I lost him she sent such a beautiful card and wrote beautiful words inside that I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with her family .

Nancy was one of a kind and she loved life. I will never forget when she adjusted her blouse, right there in the elementary school hallway, to show me a new tattoo. I could hardly look at it for laughing! She was a hoot and lived her life to the fullest.
God bless you, family, as you remember all the good times with Nancy. She was a bright light in a dark world and will be greatly missed.

I enjoyed my visits with Nancy. We both loved shopping, decorating, fashion, crafting, and travel. We would get lost in conversation forgetting how much time had passed. She loved telling fond stories of her family. I took care of her as a nurse but I considered her a friend. I send my love and prayers for all of her family during this time.
