Obituary

PAMELA RUTH (THURMAN) LaFEVER, 66 YEARS OLD OF GOTEBO, OKLAHOMA, PASSED AWAY FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020 AFTER A LONG BATTLE WITH CANCER. IT WOULD BE WRONG TO SAY SHE LOST HER BATTLE TO CANCER, BECAUSE SHE NEVER REALLY STOPPED FIGHTING. NO MATTER HOW SICK SHE GOT, SHE WAS DETERMINED.

PAM WAS BORN ON JANUARY 20, 1954, IN POTEAU, OKLAHOMA, TO THE LATE RAYMOND AND IRENE (POOR) THURMAN.

PAM MOVED TO GOTEBO IN 1980 WITH HER HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER. AT THAT TIME, SHE WORKED AT THE GOTEBO GET-N-GO. EVENTUALLY, THEY PURCHASED AND RAN THE STORE FOR ALMOST 30 YEARS.

PAM WAS A HUGE SUPPORTER ON MAKING GOTEBO A BETTER PLACE. SHE WAS THE MAYOR AND HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN THE GOTEBO GET DOWN SINCE IT FIRST BEGAN.

PAM LIVED HER LIFE TO THE FULLEST, EVEN UP UNTIL HER LAST DAYS. PAM WAS A HUGE SUPPORTER OF HER GRANDKIDS. SHE LOVED WATCHING THEM PLAY FOOTBALL, BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL. IF THEY WERE PLAYING A GAME, SHE WAS THERE. SHE WAS KNOWN AS “NEE-NEE”. EVERYONE CALLED HER THAT.

PAM IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, RONNIE, OF THE HOME. DAUGHTER TRACI AND HUSBAND BRYAN, THEIR CHILDREN, JAIDYN, JESICA AND BRODY, ALL OF GOTEBO. SON RICHARD AND WIFE RACQUEL, THEIR CHILDREN, LANE AND SAYLOR, OF STIGLER. SON DONNIE, OF WATONGA. HIS CHILDREN, CODY AND SON, KODA, TERENCE AND WIFE NICHOLE, THEIR CHILDREN, ROBBIE AND JEREMY, TYLER, AND MELONIE AND SON, ZANDER, ALL FROM EL RENO. THREE BROTHERS, MARSHAL AND WIFE PAT, OF ELGIN. MARVIN AND WIFE MOLLY, OF YUKON. AND RICK AND WIFE ROBIN, OF GOTEBO. SHE HAD SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

SHE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, RAYMOND AND IRENE THURMAN, HER SISTER AND BROTHER-IN-LAW, HATTIE AND PERRY BLAKLEY AND NIECE, TAYLOR THURMAN.

Ronnie, Traci & family: My heart is broken as I know your families has to be also. Your mom was a wonderful lady, friend, wife, mother & grandmother.  I first met her when my husband and I had the Store in Carnegie and your mom had a booth rented there with us.  She had a lot of Coca Cola items we became friends and then later started cooking at Senior Center we got closer when we were both going thru Cancer Treatments at the same time. We would text on the phone she was always lifting me up in some positive way.  Jimmy & I loved her as a very dear friend.  She was a help to me when Jimmy was so sick when he passed & I lost my son the same years just a few months later.  Your mom was going thru a bad time then also, but she always keep smiling and never complained.  Your mother was a jewel, she's going to be missed by a lot of people that's for sure.  Traci, remember the sweet smile and good memories you had with you mom, she would want that, help your dad the best you can.  God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.
Keep your Faith God will help with your pain in time, just remember " One Day At A Time"
I'll miss you Pam
