Vicky Cain

August 15, 1944 — May 19, 2026

Vicky Lee Cain, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 15, 1944, Vicky was a source of love and support for everyone who knew her.

Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mom, and memaw, as well as the self-appointed boss of her brothers and sister, whose greatest joy in life was the people she loved. Her family was the center of her world, and she made everyone around her feel cared for, welcomed, and deeply loved.

Vicky married her late husband, David Lee Cain, on March 27, 1964. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with adventure, spending countless happy days camping and making memories wherever the road led them. Whether it was a quiet campground, a scenic highway, or simply sitting outside watching the birds, she found joy in life's simple moments.

She had a special love for feeding and watching the birds and planting flowers, jokingly believing that whoever had the most flowers won. Her yard, home, and heart were always full of warmth and beauty. Though she enjoyed traveling, she was truly a homebody at heart-happiest when surrounded by the comfort of home and the people she loved most.

Vicky was a people person who loved helping others. She worked as a bank teller at the Anadarko Bank & Trust and later for Mike Day at State Farm. While she had many jobs throughout her life, she would always boast that her true career was being a wife and a mother.

She will be remembered for her loving spirit, gentle heart, sassy mouth, sense of humor, and the way she made family feel like the most important thing in the world.

She is survived by her three daughters, Dana and Steve Ladyman of Anadarko, Angela and Barry Law of Norman, and Shelly and Eric Thompson of Anadarko. Vicky was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Cassie and James Stephens, Eric and Kirby Ladyman, Kaylee and Michael Flynn, Hunter and Megan Ladyman, Tori and Cassidy Baker, Jennifer and Sooner Harmon, Cassiday Thompson, and Ashley Thompson. Vicky's joy expanded with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Skylar, Raylee, and Ridge Ladyman; Hayden, Maddie, and McKenna Ladyman; Paisley Harmon; Cooper and Preslee Baker; Violet Stefanski; Emma, Caleb, and Connor Stephens; Ellie and Bryce Flynn. A very special friend, Cheryl Cooper that was a part of our family for more than 60 years.

In addition to her immediate family, Vicky is survived by her brother John Hearrell and wife Elsie; brother Lonnie Hearrell; brother Mark Hearrell and wife Carol; sister Rhonda Upchurch and husband David; sister-in-law Tobie Hearrell; sister-in-law Rhonda Hearrell.

Vicky was preceded in death by her husband David; parents, Sybil (Vick) Hearrell and E.J. Hearrell; her brothers, Donald, Paul, Obed and Joe, sister-in-law Mable Hearrell, in-laws, Docie Mae (Holland) Cain and Alfred Cain; brother-in-law Charles Cain and sister-in-law Verla Cain.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Elera Caring Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Vicky's later years, especially to Sarah French. Sarah not only cared for Vicky during her most challenging days but became a dear friend and confidant to her. Our family will forever be grateful for the love and kindness she offered.
