Terry Lynn Fry

May 25, 1958 — August 28, 2025

Terry Lynn Fry, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and businessman, passed away peacefully on August 28th, 2025, at his home in Sentinel, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family. He was 67 years old.

Born on May 25th, 1958 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Dale Duane Fry and Betty Jane (Cole) Fry. He was raised in Sentinel, Oklahoma where he attended Sentinel Public Schools and met the love of his life Nikkie Lynn (Rush) Fry. Together they were married in Wilbarger County, Texas on September 29th 1983. They built their home and raised their family in Sentinel, Oklahoma.

Even at an early age Terry wasn't afraid of working, and began hauling hay and doing other farm work at an early age. When he finished school he went to work in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas where he quickly worked his way up from "floor hand" to "driller" leading a crew of other hardworking men for the Santa Fe Oil Company. One thing was certain when it came to work - nobody was going to outwork Terry, but he also wouldn't ask you to do something that he wasn't willing to do himself. After his time in the oilfield came to an end he worked for Joe Kent farming in Washita and Tillman counties. Terry would spend a whole day riding a tractor between the two locations to get the job done. After this he started working for the T.H. Rogers Lumber Company, a multi-state lumber and hardware store where he and Rodney Goss won numerous awards for sales, and customer service. It was there that he retired after a 30 plus year career as local manager. At the time of his retirement, Terry's manager stated that "It can honestly be said that no one ever outworked Terry Fry... There were many years our Sentinel location was our company's most profitable store."

When not at work, Terry had a crew of young men that would help him cut grass for many families in the Sentinel and surrounding area. It was here that he taught many young men, including his sons the value of hard work and the true cost of a dollar. Terry was also a volunteer firefighter with the Sentinel Volunteer Fire Department where he retired after 20 years of service to the communities in Washita County.

After all of the work and chores were done, Terry could often be caught enjoying one of his favorite pastimes. In the early years this was it was raising, breeding, and exhibiting gamefowl so that he could preserve the sport of cockfighting with his sons. During the cooler months Terry could be found out in the country hunting coyotes, he enjoyed raising, breeding, and running some of the best greyhounds in the country. When he was a younger man, Terry also enjoyed "coon hunting" and was a "Grand Night Champion". Travelling all over the state of Oklahoma - it was almost a guarantee that if Terry was there the trophy would be coming home with him.

The thing that Terry loved the most in this world was his family, there was no such thing as a small family gathering at his home. It didn't matter if you were kin or not, if you showed up to family dinner you were going to eat. Nobody was going to go hungry on his watch.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents - Luther Alva Fry and Grace Pearl (Triplett) Fry, his maternal grandparents Harrison William Cole and Nettie Irene (Mainis) Cole, his father Dale Duane Fry, his brother Steven Mark Fry, and his father and mother in-law Llynn Franklin Rush and Shirley Kay (Lester) Rush.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nikkie Lynn (Rush) Fry, his mother Betty Jane (Cole) Fry, his half brother Eddie Smith, his half-sister Miriam Rasdall-Avise, his half-sister Mary Lane, his son Bobby Joe Fry and wife Teri Lyn (Thompson) Fry, his son Branden Dale Fry and wife Tina Marie (Dorman) Fry, his son Levi Jackson Fry and wife Kristi Nicole (Coakley) Fry, Katie Arlene (Fry) Smith and Husband Dustin Cory Smith, his son Travis Montana Fry, his son Dakota Jett Fry and wife Michelle Frances (Gass) Fry, his son Dusty Denton Fry and wife Kelli Jan (White) Fry His son Rusty Quentin Fry and wife Maranda Jo (Frank) Fry, and a host of grandkids and great-grandkids.
