Stephen Carl Sparkman

Stephen Carl "BB" Sparkman, 70, of Anadarko passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 in Oklahoma City with his family by his side. He was born April 14, 1955 in Anadarko to Douglas and Ruth Sparkman. BB grew up and attended school in Anadarko, graduating with the Class of 1973. He then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He owned Sparkman Plumbing in Anadarko for 30 years.

On Sept. 26, 2003, BB married the love of his life, the former Penny Boynton, in Wichita Falls, Texas. The couple made their home in Anadarko, where they remained until his passing. When his niece Laura was little, BB was called Stevie by his family. She wasn't able to say Stevie, so she called him "BB" and the name stuck. BB enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when an Oklahoma team was playing, boys or girls. He was very smart and funny, and could talk your ear off. He enjoyed listing to rock music. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Doug and Tommy Sparkman, and a sister-in-law, Sandra Jo Sparkman.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Sparkman of the home; one brother, Terry Sparkman of Cyril; his stepchildren, Richard Asenap and wife Alethea, and Jon Asenap and wife Yvette, all of Albuquerque, N.M., Keelie Timmons and husband Tim of Purcell, Kelly Ginter and wife April of Duncan, and Tracie Asenape of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister-in-law, Shelly Sparkman of Anadarko, plus a host of other family and friends.
