Anna Pauline "Sally" Hunn Stephens, 74, of Oklahoma City, passed away on April 17, 2023 at her home. Sally was born on August 16, 1948 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Eddie and Faye (Bolte) Carter. She attended school in Hobart. Sally married Jacob Hunn on February 14, 1964, to this union two children were born, Lana and Jay. She worked for the Hobart Hospital as a ward clerk and then worked for Stanley's Furniture. She received her License Practical Nursing Degree in Burns Flatt in 1983, working at the Fort Supply State Hospital, and Oklahoma City Crisis Center. She worked for the State of Oklahoma for twenty years. In 2000, she married Dennis Ray Stephens in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death in 2009. She taught Sunday School for several churches throughout the years. Sally enjoyed quilting, gardening, hanging out with her girlfriends and taking special trips. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, great grandkids and taking care of her dogs.
Survivors include: her daughter, Lana Branch and husband Chris of Hobart; son, Jay Hunn and wife Kathy of Eufaula; grandchildren, Seth Miller and wife Kindrah, Drew Miller and wife Whitney, Mercedes Gilliland and husband Todd, Jacquelynn Vorasane and husband Dillion, Jake Hunn and wife Shyla, Josh Hunn and Cameron Branch; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Jayla, and Benton Miller, Sage, Sunny and Kalli Miller, Kollin and Coraline Gilliland and JoJi Vorasane; sister, Judy Serpas of Louisiana; sister in-law, L'Nora Barger and husband Lanny of Granite; d brother Jeff Carter. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Chuck, Steven, Ronnie, and Jason Serpas, Andrew Carter, Andrea Egan, and Rhonda, Kim, and Lisa Barger; and Sally's special friend, John. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dennis Stephens; great grandson Seth Miller II; brother and sister in-law, Butch and Sylvia Carter.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Washington Street Baptist Church in Hobart. Pallbearers are Drew Miller, Aiden Miller, Jake Hunn, Josh Hunn, Todd Gilliland and Jason Serpas. Honorary pallbearers are James Ellis, Brett Flinn, David Real, Herby Bynum, Dillion Vorasane. and Clifford "Bubba" Scott. Burial will follow at the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory of Eufaula.
