Ronald Lynn Slover, Sr. passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Newcastle, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 15, 1952, to Shirley Shook in Spring Creek, Oklahoma.
Ron attended school in Gracemont, OK, graduating in 1971, and later attended college at Southwest Oklahoma State University. Ron met Sheila Graves, who ended up being the love of his life, at Maremont in Chickasha, Oklahoma where they were both employed. The two went on to marry on February 9, 1980 in Chickasha. Together they shared a life built on love, laughter, and family.
Ron took pride in his work from owning and operating a donut shop and game room in Chickasha, OK, to then working and retiring from Anadarko water treatment facility as a laboratory technician for more than 25 years. Ron loved listening to classic country music, where he and Sheila attended around 300 concerts. Most notable of these concerts, Ron attended 48 Hours in Atoka with his rowdy friends, Freddy Haynes and Ronnie Askins, and others. He was an avid gun enthusiast, who collected, bought, and sold guns at gun shows with his good friend, Moose (James) Haynes. He and Sheila loved traveling the United States and Mexico. They visited 43 of the 50 states including Hawaii and Alaska. He was a true family man who loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Ron's kindness, steady presence, and love for his family will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
