Peggy Burden

Peggy Sue Burden passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 9th 2026. She was born August 20th 1959 in Hobart, OK to Ed and Wanda Rogers. She grew up in Hobart and attended Hobart Public Schools. Peggy was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God church all of her life. She married Burt Burden March 19th, 1982 in Vernon, TX. She worked as a CNA at The Good Samaritan Center for many years and enjoyed taking care of her residents. Peggy had many hobbies through the years: sewing, painting ceramics, thrifting and decorating her home to name a few. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She loved to cook Sunday dinners and have everyone out to eat and chat. She was very close to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Burt of the home. Her daughters Nona Smith and LaWanda Wyrick and husband Teddy of Hobart, OK. Her mother Wanda Rogers of Hobart, OK. Her grandson Taw Wyrick and nephew Jesus Ayers of the home. Her sister Linda Hoover and husband David. And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Nelda, father Ed Rogers, her grand parents Wesley Lankford and Mamie Lankford, D.O. Rogers and Rena Rogers, father in law, Ivory Burden and Iva Dean Burden, son in law Jimmy Smith and nephew Justin Hoover.
