Neil Travis Spradlin, 87, passed away on December 9, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born October 27, 1936 in Anadarko, OK to Newt T. and Marie M. (Cosby) Spradlin.
Neil attended and graduated the Anadarko Class of 1955. He joined the Army Reserve, then joined the Air Force for 4 years. Neil met the love of his life, Shasta Ballard and they were blessed with their children, Steven and Vickie. He was a dedicated husband and father with close ties to all family, friends, and the community.
He worked at Spradlin Auto Supply in Anadarko with his father and continued the business for more than 30 years after his father's passing. Neil was active with visiting friends in the community and generous with those in need. He had many hobbies and interests in his life including working in his machine shop/garage, carpentry, home improvement, and auto racing. He served as a Board Member at the Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center for many years. Neil was loved by many in the community and will be greatly missed by all lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his: parents, Newt and Marie Spradlin; sister, Yvonne Laird and her husband, G.J. Laird.
Neil is survived by his:
Wife: Shasta Spradlin, of the home.
Son and daughter in-law: Steven and Lori Spradlin, Friendswood, TX.
Daughter and son in-law: Vickie and Kirk Wickersheim, San Leon, TX.
Grandchildren: Summer Nelson, Friendswood, TX; Anthony Spradlin, Portland, OR; Monica Wilder, Alvin, TX.
Five Great grandchildren.
Sister: Janet Spradlin Wheeler, Oklahoma City, OK.
Brother in-law and wife: Ronnie and Judy Ballard, Ada, OK
Surviving members from the Spradlin lineage:
Nieces and nephews: Karen Cole and her husband Ed, and family, Jana Donald Miller and son, Lydia Barron and her husband Greg, Jeff Laird and his wife Paula, and family.
Pre-deceased from the Spradlin lineage:
Niece: Margie Grounds and husband George.
He was loved by a host of family and friends.
Neil was a private individual and has requested a private family service.
