Marvin Joe "Bolivar" Lindsey, 101, was born to S.B. and Nora (Gold) Lindsey, in Dill City, Oklahoma. He was 1 of 13 children. As a young boy he attended and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Gotebo, OK. Marvin recieved his education from Gotebo Schools. He graduated high school in 1942. He left California, to work in the shipyards. Shortly after, Marvin joined the U.S. Navy. When he shipped out, he was sent to Hawaii, Philippines, Okinawa, and China. He was honorably discharged in 1946. After his service, Marvin came back to Oklahoma and married Thelma Loretta Johnson, on June 22, 1948, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had three daughters, Marva Jo, Carla Jean, and Darla Jan. Marvin received his higher education from Panhandle A&M and Oklahoma A&M college (OSU). He taught Vocational Agriculture, in the classroom, for 31 years. Marvin ended his career after serving 5 years as S.E. District Supervisor in the State Department of Agriculture at OSU. Marvin was a member of many organizations, but was especially proud to be a member of the American Legion for 50 years and a most recent member of the Oklahoma Centenarians. He was a cattle rancher and farmer, enjoyed going to farm auctions, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Jean Lindsey Douglas, Parents; SB & Nora Lindsey; 5 brothers, Carl, Harrell, George, Obie, and Daniel, 7 sisters; Dora Ellen, Juanita, Neoma, Erie Jewel, Mary, Dorothy and Bertie Jean.

Darla Jan Hogan & husband, Andy
Grandchildren: Lindsey Armbrister & husband, Tyler
Michael Sagely & wife, Michelle
Great Grandchildren: Carson Hobbs, Allison, Emma, Olivia Sagely, and Ashton Andrews
A host of numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
