Linda Paulette (Cooper) McRee was born June 22,1944 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Clystia Ilean (Lawson) and Art John Cooper. She passed away on Sunday September 22, 2024 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Ok. Linda was baptized on September 28, 1958 at the First Baptist Church in Sentinel, Ok.
Due to there being two Linda's in the same first grade class Linda became known as Paulette around the Sentinel community. It was at school where Linda met her lifelong friend Barbara (McCraney) Hopkins. Linda was an Honor student and won many academic awards including Valedictorian of both her Freshman and Senior class. She graduated from Sentinel High School in 1962. Linda married Jimmy Dale Chandler on December 8, 1961 in Wheeler, Texas. They were blessed with the birth of one son Jimmy Lynn Chandler who was born on November 13, 1962. Linda worked at the Clinton Sherman Air Force base for a short time and later worked as the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Sentinel in the early 70's. Linda attended Western Oklahoma Area Vocational School in Burns Flat, Ok graduating in 1977 from the Manpower (CETA) Stenography Class. In December of 1977 she was employed as the secretary for the Practical Nursing Program. Linda was later promoted to the LPN Administrative Assistant position where she served until her retirement in 2006 after 29 years with the school. Linda and Dennis McRee met each other through their employment and after seven years of off and on dating they decided to get married. They were married on April 28, 1994 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. On their second wedding anniversary they had their wedding vows blessed by the Catholic Church at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Elk City, Ok. This past April they celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary. Linda enjoyed reading, photography, traveling, and being with family and friends.
Cherishing her memory are her husband Dennis McRee of Canute, Ok, one son Lynn Chandler and wife Darla of Tuttle, Ok., granddaughter Jennifer Bryant and husband Mark of Carnegie, Ok., their children great grandson Aydin Bryant and great granddaughter Collyns Bryant. Grandson Justin Chandler and companion Jessica of Broken Arrow, Ok., niece Rhonda Van Bakel and husband Tim of Fort Worth, Tx., great nephew Chad Johnson and wife Amanda, Fort Worth, Tx., great niece Ashley Hazelton and husband Dakota of Fort Worth, Tx., and great niece Brittini Randles and husband Justin of Fort Worth, Tx., Her McRee In-law's, relatives, and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents Art and Clystia Cooper, sister Mae Dell Robinson, brother in-law Lloyd Robinson, and many cousins.
