Linda Branam, 77, of Hobart, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. She was born on July 7, 1948, and grew up in Hobart, where she attended school and built lifelong friendships.
On January 21, 1967, Linda married the love of her life, Johnny Branam, and together they created a home full of love, laughter, and countless memories. She worked as a librarian for 30 years, where her love for books inspired countless students and neighbors to read and learn.
Linda was active in her community and especially loved working with young people. She served as a Girl Scout leader and even won the contest to name the camp in Granite-choosing Camp Kate Portwood as the name.
Creative and caring by nature, Linda enjoyed sewing, crafting, cooking, and baking. She especially loved making homemade Christmas ornaments and cookies, which she delighted in sharing with family and friends. Linda also loved to play cards with her ladies, cherishing the laughter and fellowship those gatherings brought. She always entered cakes and baked goods in the fair every year, and usually won-something she became well known for and took great pride in. She also loved her irises, which brought her much joy in tending and sharing.
Her family, friends, and community will remember Linda as a woman of kindness, patience, and quiet strength. Whether through a good book recommendation, a handmade gift, or a heartfelt conversation, she made life richer for those around her.
She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, service, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
