Johnetta "John" Horsechief-Gonzales

Johnetta "John" Horsechief-Gonzalez was born October 13, 1966 to Edwin and Armalene Swift-Horsechief in Lawton, Oklahoma. She went to her heavenly home Thursday, June 2, 2022.
She grew up and attended school in Gracemont, Oklahoma. Johnetta started dancing in the powwow circuit at a young age as the head little girl dancer. Her father composed a song for her. She traveled through out Indian Country with her family and was also involved with GreyHorse Singers of Oklahoma as a back-up lady singer. Every year she traveled with her mom and dad to the Crow Fair in Montana to camp with family. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and watching basketball. Johnetta supported all of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren and made sure to attend all of their sporting events, regardless of the distance. She always wanted to show her support for them. Johnetta also enjoyed revivals, church, and gospel singing. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren.
Johnetta was preceded in death by her: parents, Edwin and Armalene Swift-Horsechief; four sisters, Dena Horsechief, Gayla "Chickie" Horsechief, Kayla "Hottsie" Horsechief-Mejia, Joanna Marie; four aunts, LaVera Swift-Reeder, Novalene Swift-Holder, Rose Horsechief-Henderson, Joyce Tinetigh; one uncle Franklin Dale Swift; one brother, Clifford Swift; seven cousins, Anthony Holder, Odette Holder, Jeannie Whiteshied, Kathalene Reeder, Virgil Swift, Charles Reeder JR. and Benita Reeder; her grandparents, Frank and Eunice Campbell Swift, Mae "Thoe-ah-goole" "Red Bucket" Tsotigh-Blackstar.
