Jerry Dale Jones

Jerry Dale Jones, 81, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on August 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Oklahoma City. He was born on August 3, 1944, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Ed Wilson Jones and Elois (Parham) Jones.

Jerry grew up in Anadarko, where he attended school and worked his first job at the local gas station. On December 31, 1962, he married the love of his life, Velma Hendricks, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter and were blessed with two children: Dalene and Terry.

Jerry and Velma spent nearly ten years in California before returning to their hometown roots. He worked faithfully at Western Farmers Electric until his retirement at the age of 62. Retirement didn't slow him down he and his son, Terry, designed, built and co-owned the local laundromat, and he enjoyed managing rental properties.

A man of many passions, Jerry loved bluegrass music and could often be found enjoying a good jam session. He was happiest outdoors-whether fishing, hunting, or spending time at Fort Cobb Lake, the place he was proud to call home. More than anything, he loved being with his family and friends.

Jerry will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his gentle heart, and the joy he found in life's simple moments. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
