Janet Jerlene Hoyl, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Born on December 24, 1944, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Janet was the cherished daughter of Rosie (Manley) Evans and Sam Evans. From an early age, she demonstrated a strong sense of compassion and dedication to caring for others-qualities that would define her life's work.
Janet pursued her education with determination and pride. She graduated from Carnegie High School in 1963, earning her high school diploma. Driven by a calling to serve in healthcare, she continued her studies at Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification, and later at both Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Redlands Community College, she diligently worked hard towards her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse (RN). Throughout her career, Janet devoted herself to the well-being of her community. She proudly served as part of the EMS in Mountain View, Oklahoma, and worked as a nurse at Carnegie Hospital as well as both the Mountain View Nursing Home and Carnegie Nursing Home. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her work, her kindness, and her quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She was greeted at heaven's gates by her parents Sam Evans and Rosie Evans ; two brothers, J.C. Evans and Fred Evans; and sister Jeneva Burkhalter.
Left to honor the memory of Janet is her husband, Lance Hoyl of the home.
Children: Jelene Terneus, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; Landell Hoyl and wife, Claudia, Mtn. View, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
