Georgia Ann (Kauley) Kaulaity was born on February 11, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Samuel and Pearl (Monetathchi) Kauley in Lawton, OK. She passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. She was born and raised in Lawton, OK.
Georgia Ann was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Pearl (Monetathchi) Kauley; paternal grandmother Laura Jones Kauley, maternal grandparents A.A. Monetathchi and Martha Wahper, and an adopted daughter/niece, Lena Bohay, and beloved Aunt Vicky Kauley. Georgia attended public schools in Lawton, OK. She graduated from Lawton High School in 1963. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK, and Central State College (now University of Central Oklahoma) in Edmond, OK, where she studied English and Library Studies. She graduated in 1968.
Following graduation from college, Georgia worked as a Child Protective Services Social Worker and eventually became the supervisor of her unit for all of Comanche County. She retired after 30 years of service.
On February 8, 1969, Georgia married Walter Francis Kaulaity in Lawton, OK. They established their home in Lawton, OK, for 27 years. In 1996, they moved to Norman, OK. They were married for 42 years until his passing on September 20, 2011.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Alice Ann, and husband Russell McClellan, grandsons Walter Toyawday Young Bear and Joshua Samuel Tyner McClellan; sons, Norman Clark and Michael Edward Bohay, and sister Elaine Kihega of Lawton.
Georgia also had several adopted daughters, including Kim Tiger, Elgin, OK; Billie Kihega, Lawton, OK; Heather Levi, Mustang, OK; Danielle Pickering, Oklahoma City, OK; Jackie Tsonetokoy, Carnegie, OK; Tracey Munden, Colorado; Crystal Ahdunko, Lawton, OK; Deana Steger, Greece; Toni Lynn Kaulaity, Del City, OK; Lori Kaulaity, Lawton, OK; Ruthie Kaulaity, Lawton, OK; Norman Cross, Yukon, OK; Sandy Harris, Carnegie, OK; and Jackie Bohay.
Georgia Ann was a devout Catholic and she loved to read her devotional. Her favorite color for her wardrobe was anything black, and she was so proud of her daughter, Alice Ann. She and her daughter loved to travel to and from Carnegie, Oklahoma, to all the Kiowa doings. Georgia Ann never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone and everyone. She was a proud Kiowa tribal member and she was also Comanche. Georgia had a gift of knowing a lot of her relatives and how most people were related to one another.
Throughout the years, Georgia and her husband, Walter, always had their home open to anyone who needed a place to stay, live, or visit for the weekend. Auntie G, as she was known to her nieces and nephews, was known for her loving and kind nature. If anyone stayed with the Kaulaity's, Georgia would care for them by doing their laundry, ironing their clothes, cooking for them, and making them feel welcomed in her home, or just letting them stay awhile. She loved to visit all her family and friends and laugh and tell stories.
Georgia was a loving supporter of her husband, Walter Francis, in his Treasurer duties with the Kiowa Gourd Clan for 43 years. You did not see one without the other. She also accompanied him on most of his work trips after she retired so she could help him drive all over Oklahoma. She would wait in the van while he worked for a couple of hours then she would drive him home. She did not mind doing those kinds of things because she was that kind of spouse and that type of person.
She was proud to tell everyone she had two grandsons, Walter, who plays college football for West Virginia University, and her lil "Shoogs," Joshua Samuel, who plays grade school football and loves to draw. Georgia also enjoyed watching the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball team with her good friend Judy Jones.
She has a good friend, Nancy Long, whom she loved to talk to on the telephone, and she has cousins and sister-in-laws she loved to call; Alpha Kaulaity, Jackie Hainta, cousin Cheryl Lewis and her late Aunt Martha Poolaw as well as her daughter Kim Tiger, her nieces, Billie Kihega and Sanah Scott.
Georgia will be missed by all the family and friends she made throughout the years.
