Surrounded by family and friends, Geneva Mae (Cotten) Dunn, age 94, went to her heavenly home from her earthly home to be with her loved ones on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Born west of Anadarko on December 1, 1930, she was the sixth of eight siblings born to Roy A. Cotten and Ollie Mae Wright Cotten.
Geneva's parents, two sisters and five brothers predeceased her as did a granddaughter, April Evans.
On June 2, 1951, she and Robert (Bob) Dunn were married in Friend, Oklahoma by Pastor Doc Ramsey. They were married for 68 years until Bob's death in 2018. Their union produced three daughters, Robin Dunn Edwards and Beverly G. Kenedy of Anadarko, and Frances D. Evans of Oklahoma City.
Geneva was a seamstress, gardener, outstanding cook, and believed in education for all. She was active in the Anadarko Public Schools volunteering for room mother, PTA bean suppers and box dinners, hauling tables from Oklahoma City for prom, multiple field trips, and also took part in different farm groups.
She loved Red Angus cattle, music, singing, and square dancing. She was also known to jitter bug on roller skates in younger days. Many a square dance outfit was made by her.
Geneva is survived by her daughters, Robin Dunn Edwards & husband, David, and Beverly Kenedy & husband, Gary, of Anadarko, and Fran Dunn Evans of Oklahoma City, her grandchildren, Erik Evans of Los Angeles, Kyra Fries & husband, Todd and Corey Kenedy & wife, Melisha, and Ryan Evans of Oklahoma City, Evan Kenedy & wife, Jessica, of Overland Park, Kansas, Cody Roberts of Anadarko, Casey Roberts & partner, Wyatt, of Yukon, Cameron Roberts & wife, Andee of Carnegie, Dakota Edwards & wife, Baylee, Edwards of Elgin, Jade Clark & husband, Chad, of Anadarko, and Jordan Edwards of Lawton, OK
Great grandchildren include Charlie, Samuel, Elliot and Joseph Fries, and Madeline and Norah Kenedy of Oklahoma City; Ezra Kenedy of Overland Park, Kansas, Ryder Edwards of Elgin, and Lennon Lantz of Carnegie, OK.
