Geanea Lynette Watson

June 5, 1952 — October 5, 2022

Geanea Lynette Watson passed peacefully from this life, surrounded by her loved ones, on October 5th, 2022. She was born on June 5, 1952 in Rocky, OK to Doyle and Nelda (Cunningham) Watson. Geanea was the second of three children, including older sister Deidra and younger brother Von, and was a part of a very close extended family. Her life was defined by service to others, born of her love for God and family. While she never married or had children of her own, she leaves a legacy of love and care to generations of family and friends, many of whom knew her as "Aunt Nea".
Geanea grew up in and around Hobart, working with her family in the family business, Watson's Decorating Supplies. Geanea graduated from Hobart High School in 1970. She was proud of the 25 years she served as Kiowa County Clerk. Geanea took pride in her office and loved being able to serve in that capacity. A strong work ethic was a natural consequence of growing up in a family business and Geanea applied that ethic to all facets of her life, including service to God. She learned to pray as she learned to talk, and her devotion to God was life-long. She was baptized at 15 in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.
Geanea loved music. She was a gifted singer and was often asked to sing at weddings and funerals. She loved to give, always buying too many groceries, just so she could send them home with her visitors. She took pride in spending the time necessary to find the most thoughtful, useful or relevant gift for any occasion and every occasion warranted a gift.
She is survived by her sister, Deidra Brown of Yukon, OK; nephews Brett Brown and wife Cynthia of Mustang, OK; Heath Brown and wife Gaby of Yukon, OK and Jarrod Watson and Wife Keri of Allen, TX; Great Nieces Brooke Brown, Oklahoma City and Penelope Watson Dallas, TX. and Great Nephews Jackson Brown of Mustang, OK and Emiliano Watson, Dallas, TX. She was also very close to her cousins Kent and Loura McAbee and family of Hobart.
Preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Von.
