Through his singing of Kiowa hymns, he consoled countless grieving families and uplifted others in joyful prayer. Even at his youthful age of 47, he left a powerful legacy of song and knowledge to the next generation of Kiowa people. Freddie earned his high school diploma from Anadarko High School. After high school, he attended college at Oklahoma City University. Through his studies, he was able to express and develop his artistic talents in drawing and music. Freddie was a treasured teacher and song keeper in the Kiowa tribe's language and culture program. Freddie's earliest and fondest memories as a boy and young man were in the Kiowa Gourd Clan arena, where he later became a loyal member and advisor. Throughout his life, Freddie traveled extensively across the United States and Canada. While making his footprints across Indian country, he formed numerous lifelong kinships, of which he always revered. In the southern style, Freddie was a world champion singer with his family drum group, Cozad. As a true Kiowa, Freddie's favorite past time was playing handgame. He was a proud captain of the Camp 7 handgame team, whom he considers his family.
