Steve Quintero

September 2, 1944 — May 18, 2023

Esteban "Steve" Quintero was born September 2, 1944, to Urbano and Angelita (Garza) Quintero in Donna, Texas. His family were migrant workers who traveled through north Texas and all across the United States, ending up in Hobart, Oklahoma in 1960. Steve met and married the love of his life, Maria Ramirez on July 27, 1964. To this union, three children were born, Manuel, Sylvia and Stella.
In the early part of their marriage, Steve worked with Harold Holman doing farm work, and in the evenings, Harold taught him the art of making dentures. In 1964, Steve began working full-time at Holman Dental Lab, eventually opening his own lab, Hobart Denture Lab. Steve was highly sought after by many dentists in Western Oklahoma and North Texas for his attention to detail and his gift for a natural look and fit. Steve retired from The Lab in 2018. Steve was an avid bowler throughout his lifetime and competed on the state level several times, with a personal record high score of 299.
Steve passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 18, 2023, in his home in Hobart.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Urbano and Angelita Quintero, two brothers, Simon & Joe Quintero, and two beautiful daughters Sylvia Quintero and Stella Pfenning.
Survivors include his wife, Maria of the home and his son, Manuel Quintero and wife Sandra, Hobart; six grandchildren, Chelsea Graham and husband Nate, Yukon OK, Dara Quintero, Hobart, Nicolas Pfenning and wife Monica, Hobart, Kristen Stanton and husband Blake, Hobart, Shae Pfenning, El Reno OK, Drew Quintero, Weatherford OK; six great-grandchildren, Reagan and Logan Graham, Luke, Jack and Kate Stanton, and Samuel and Stella Pfenning; sisters, Eva Munoz, Juanita Garza, Rosa Ramirez, Sophia Perez, Elena Alonzo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
