Ernie Eugene Bagley
February 5, 1954 - April 10, 2026
Ernie Eugene Bagley, 72, passed away on April 10, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on February 5, 1954, in Tipton, Oklahoma, to Benny and June Bagley.
Ernie was raised in Altus, Oklahoma, where he built the strong, independent spirit that would define his life. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Army. During his service, he traveled to places such as Australia and Hawaii, but afterward chose to remain close to home, spending the rest of his life rooted in Southwest Oklahoma. He began work at GoodYear in Lawton, OK, where he worked in the maintenance department for many years.
He shared over 37 years with his loving wife, Dana Bagley, building a beautiful blended family of five children. Together, they proudly owned and operated Great Plains Auto Parts, where they dedicated themselves to serving their community and surrounding areas with care and integrity.
Known affectionately as "Pawpaw," Ernie was deeply loved by his family. He was a hardworking and independent man who took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures-drinking his coffee black, smoking his cigarettes, country dancing, and playing cards. He especially loved games like Skip-Bo, Uno, Phase 10, and Spades, often bringing family together around the table. Ernie also had a passion for organizing and home renovations, always working to make things look just right.
He is survived by his children: Misty Lamp and Brian of Huntington, West Virginia; Shane Bagley and fiancée Denise Weaver-Reese of Iowa Park, Texas; Tamara Jennings and Ryan of Cooperton, Oklahoma; Joshua Bagley of Mountain View, Oklahoma; and Lindsey Clift and Tyler of Elgin, Oklahoma. 13 grandchildren: Zoey Olin, Demi Olin, Lily Lamp, Caleb Bagley, Nate Jennings and wife Taylor, Rylan Jennings, Rostyn Jennings, Mason Bagley, Liam Clift, Claire Clift, Remington Clift, Sawyer Clift, and Gwen Clift; and great-grandchildren Charlie, Nash, and Olivia.
Ernie is further survived by his mother, June Combs and RC of Mountain View, Oklahoma; his siblings, Pam Bagley of Mountain View, Karen Cleveland of Altus, Bobby Bagley of Lawton, Debra Smith of Mountain View, and Reggy Combs of Mountain View; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dana Bagley, and his father, Benny Bagley.
