Donald Hal Roddy, 88, resident of Anadarko, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with his family by his side. He was born on March 6, 1938, in Hinton, Oklahoma, to Hal Roddy, Jr. and Hazel (Thomas) Roddy.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force after completing his education at Oklahoma State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. On April 22, 1961, he married the love of his life, Betty Scott, in Binger, Oklahoma. Together they built a loving home and shared 65 wonderful years together. They raised 2 children in a home with a strong Christian faith. Donald was a deacon in his church for 34 years.
During his working years, Donald dedicated his 30 year career as a civil servant to the Department of Agriculture and the US Post Office. He was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. He always had a joke to tell. After retirement, Donald continued a lifelong dedication to agriculture by hay farming on the land that had been in his family for almost 100 years. He custom hay farmed with Greg Stone for almost 30 years.
Donald enjoyed reading a good western and sharing books with friends and family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, and steadfast character.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Roddy of Anadarko, Oklahoma; his daughter, Dawn Ella Mashaw and husband Tony of Yukon, Oklahoma; his son, Dennis Roddy and wife Tammy of Alta Vista Kansas, his grandchildren Kesha Arnold and husband Austin and 3 great grandchildren of Guthrie Ok, granddaughter Tori Mashaw of OKC, grandson Clint Roddy of Kansas, grandson Wes Roddy and fiancee Abby of Kansas. Also survived by 2 brothers, Gary Roddy of Edmond, OK and Harold Roddy of New York City. Along with other cherished family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal Roddy, Jr. and Hazel Roddy.
His life was well lived and he leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
