Darren Geimausaddle

December 1, 1959 — July 15, 2025

Darren Geimausaddle, 65, of Holdenville, OK, passed away at home on July 15, 2025. He was born on December 1, 1959, to Dave and Melva Gene (Tinetiah) Geimausaddle in Los Angeles, CA. Darren was the youngest son/brother in our family. During our relocation years, Darren grew up in Mountain View, OK, and Bell Gardens, CA, graduating in 1977. He played basketball for Bell Gardens High School. He attended Indian Revival Center, Bell Gardens, CA. While in CA, he grew up with our loving Valliere and Taylor families. Darren's first job was with the Postal Service. He was a mailman in L.A. County. After calming too many dogs and walking too many miles, he was ready to train as a firefighter in 1989 with the US Forest Service, Northern Region. He then decided to attend Haskell Junior College in KS and received his AA Degree, 1990. He worked as a Librarian Technician at the Haskell Indian Nations University. He also worked at the Palo Duro Canyon Museum in 1994. During his years in Lawrence, KS, he was a contributing writer for the Kansas State University Alliance school newspaper, where he received his BA degree in 1996. In 1997, the Kiowa Tribe appointed him to serve on the Kiowa Museum and Resource Board. When our Parents retired to Sugar Creek/Mountain View, Darren returned to OK to work for the State of Oklahoma, Great Plains Correctional facility as a corporal correctional officer. Then transferred to L.A.R.C., DOC in Lexington, as a Parole Investigator, Case Manager. He retired in 2018. He was very happy to receive his Kiowa Christmas elder payment when he celebrated his 62nd birthday.

Darren was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe. He appreciated dancing with Dad at the Gourd Clan during the 4th of July. He was also an avid Lakers and Kansas State Jayhawks fan. Darren loved our family and his dog, Tilly. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
