Benjamin (Benji) Paul Winn, Kiowa/Pima was born on May 24, 1978 and returned home to DAWKEE on August 11, 2024 after suffering a heart attack in Albuquerque, NM, where he made his home. He had a kind, gentle and caring spirit, a spirit focused on uplifting and helping others. He gave his time to those in need of a friend or someone to talk to, his friendship to those whose hope was waning and who felt alone in this world, and his possessions to those lacking the basics of food, clothing and shoes. He was altruism in action. Benji graduated with Honors from Santa Fe High School in May1997. He received a scholarship to attend the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, where he attended for 2 years, studying civil engineering before returning to Santa Fe, New Mexico to work in the retail industry. In the retail industry, he loved interacting with customers/people. Benji is survived by his mother, Glenda G. Kodaseet of Albuquerque, NM; father, Lloyd A. Winn of Ethete, WY; big brother, ThreeEagle Russell Curry of Roosevelt, Utah; and sister, Amberly D. Winn of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by little
brother, Ryan C. Kodaseet. Benji's maternal grandparents were Berdina Hovakah Wolf and Joe Kodaseet. His maternal grandmother, Berdina, was the great grand-daughter of Joe Goombi and Mille Durgan Goombi, and granddaughter of Mary Goombi and Charlie Whitehorse. His paternal great grandfather was Lee Calisay/Kodaseet.
