Annalee Melissa Dodd, 57, of Burns Flat, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on September 27, 2025, at her daughter's home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, surrounded by her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and her beloved sister Carol. Her final moments were filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family-just as she had lived her life.
Born on February 7, 1968, in Odessa, Texas, to Isabel (Porras) Brown and Louis Calvin Brown, Annalee carried the strength and spirit of her roots into every chapter of her life. She was a proud and passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, faithfully cheering on her team every Sunday. But her greatest joy came from the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family-moments she cherished deeply and gave her whole heart to.
Annalee was preceded in death by her mother Isabel Porras Brown, father Louis Calvin Brown, maternal grandparents Vidal Porras Sr. and Beatriz Acosta Porras, grandmother Artie Kilcrease, uncle Vidal Porras Jr., nephew Cory Vandevander, and her beloved fur baby Bunny.
She is survived by her son Dakota Hamlett; daughters Annalee Thomas (Dustin Thomas) of Edmond, OK, and Blaze Dering (Jeremy Dering) of Tecumseh, OK; and her loyal fur baby Shilo. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren: Deven Thomas, Isabel Thomas, Payten Thomas, Konnor Dering, and Caleb Dering.
Annalee also leaves behind her siblings: Bill Brown (Cheryl Brown) of Elk City, Carol Brown of Tecumseh, Rebecca Armentrout of Beggs, OK, Dian Vandevander (Bob Vandevander) of Glenpool, OK, and Jeri Hughes of Shawnee, OK. Her love extended to many nieces and nephews: Derek Brown (Sarah Brown), Corbin Brown, Rayanna Adams (Tyler Adams), Alyssa Sapp (Joseph Sapp), Jessica Ramirez, Callie Ramirez, Tony Ramirez, Matthew Vandevander, Angela Vandevander, and Cylver Blair (Colt Blair). She adored her great-nieces and nephews: Gavin Brown, Samuel Brown, Wyatt Brown, Addison Brewer, Ashton Brewer, Berkley Adams, Giovanni Ramirez, Leonardo Ramirez, Stella Ramirez, Harper Ramirez, Iris Ramirez, and Remington Blair.
Annalee worked as the Accounting and Store Manager at Travel Centers of America, where her dedication and leadership were deeply valued. Prior to that, she served as a lead custodian at BFDC Schools and proudly drove a school bus-roles she embraced with heart and pride, always putting the safety and well-being of students first.
Outside of work, Annalee found joy in the simple pleasures: working on her house with care and creativity, weekend bin store treasure hunts and garage sale adventures with her daughters-always on the lookout for a great bargain-jeep rides with her best friend, camping trips, mowing her yard, talking to her son on the phone, FaceTiming her daughters throughout the day, and cheering on her grandkids at their games. She especially loved getting down on the floor to play with her grandson-proof that her heart was still young. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting, and looked forward to visits from her niece for relaxing manicure and pedicure sessions-moments of pampering and connection that brought her so much joy.
Her presence was a gift, her laughter a comfort, and her love a constant. Annalee will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the memories she created and the lives she shaped.
"Though her voice is silent, her love echoes still."
