Dennis passed away Thursday, March 14th, at his home. He was born March 24, 1944, to Melvin and Lenora (Schmidt) Skinner. He grew up in Carnegie and Mt. Dennis played in the first Oil Bowl in Childress, Texas, where the football players from Oklahoma played against the best players from Texas. He was named as a Little All-American and made the Green Bay Packers draft list.
He married Dena Graham and two daughters were born to this union Jana Kay and Julie Lyn. Dennis coached football in Clinton, Ok and Carnegie. He was a custom harvester for many years and cherished the memories he made traveling north to Montana. On March 21, 1985, he married Sandy Steckman, and raised a daughter, Shandell Lyn. He was later self-employed in the farm equipment business. No matter his occupation, Dennis always enjoyed interacting with people from all walks of life. Uncle Dennis had the Skinner signature of kindness. He always had the time for us no matter what was going on. If we needed him, he was there.  He left an imprint on everyone he met in every state he stepped foot in.  Yes, he may have entered heaven, sliding in sideways with tha huge grin on his face and telling the Lord; “Wow! What a ride!” But we know he is there and heaven has another entertaining angel. Love and miss you uncle Dennis!

OH MY, WHAT A MAN THIS GUY WAS??? HE WOULD GIVE THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK TO A FRIEND OR FOE!!! BUT ON THE OTHER HAND YOU HAD BETTER BE ON YOUR GUARD IF YOU WAS TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT HIS FAMILY, HE COULD BE YOUR WORST ENEMY.  HE LOVED HIS FAMILY VERY MUCH, AND HE HAD MANY FRIENDS THAT HE THOUGHT THE WORLD OF, HE WAS ALWAYS SMILING AND READY TO TELL A JOKE OR TWO, WHETHER YOU BELIEVED THEM OR NOT HE MADE YOU LAUGH.  HE AND HIS 3 OTHER BROTHERS WERE LEFT WITHOUT A MOTHER WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG AND REALLY NEEDED A MOM, BUT HAD AUNTS & UNCLES THAT STEPPED UP AND HELP RAISE THEM, THEIR DAD MELVIN SKINNER WAS THE BEST FATHER-IN-LAW A PERSON COULD HAVE.. HARD WORK WAS NOTHING TO THESE YOUNG MEN, GROWING UP THEY WASN'T AFRAID OF WORK OR JUST ABOUT ANYTHING, IF YOU KNEW THEM YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, NOTHING THEY WOULDN'T TACKLE, DENNIS WAS THE FOOTBALL PLAYER THAT DID JUST THAT, TACKLE.  I WAS GLAD TO CALL HIM MY FRIEND & BROTHER-IN-LAW.  A MAN YOU COULDN'T KEEP FROM LIKING AND CALLING HIM YOUR FRIEND.  REST IN PEACE D.J.S.  WE ALL WILL MISS YOU VERY MUCH.  LOVE & PRAYERS DEAR ONE...  GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL
