Thomas Eugene Denton, 75, of Hobart, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 12, 2018 in Hobart, Oklahoma. Tommy was born on June 16th, 1942 to Thomas and Verdia Mae (Gibson) Denton in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Hobart. He spent most of his adult life in the trucking business as owner and operator of the Hobart Stockyards in the late 70's. Tommy also auctioneered in Snyder, Hobart, Cordell, Mangum, Carnegie and Apache. In the early 80's, Tommy worked in the car business in Altus and Hobart. He became Sheriff of Kiowa County in 1985 and served until 2003, he was the longest running sheriff for Kiowa County. The most important thing in Tommy's life was his Lord and Savior and his family.
Tommy loved his family dearly. He also enjoyed race cars and teaching his boys how to work on cars, wheeling and dealing on anything he could make money on. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Our grandparents were great friends .Our mothers were best friends since childhood. I thought we were cousins until I was 10 or 11 . We saw little of each other as we got older. I only heard of his passing today 5/9/18. He was always my friend. God bless your family
