Obituary

Ronald LeRoy Taylor, 84, a longtime Caddo County resident, was born December 28, 1934, in Verden,
Oklahoma, to Roy and Flossie (Sigmon) Taylor. He passed from this life to his eternal life with his
Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the Binger Nursing Home in Binger, Oklahoma.

Ron attended Verden Elementary School where his mother, Flossie, was a school teacher until the family
moved from the farm near Chickasha Lake to live in Anadarko. He would go on to serve in the United
States Navy. Ron married Donna Jean Renfrow on June 24, 1957, in Anadarko where they raised four
children.

Ron was a butcher and carpenter before serving in his most-loved capacity – law enforcement. He was a
police officer and detective for the Anadarko Police Department and then became a deputy sheriff for
Caddo County. Ron was elected Caddo County Sheriff in 1981. He later served as manager of Ft. Cobb
State Park and Ft. Cobb Police Department chief.

Ron was an ordained preacher and selflessly served others throughout his life. Even in retirement, he
enjoyed mowing yards for those who had trouble doing it on their own. Ron was always available to
counsel those in need and often shared God’s plan of salvation with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Donna Jean; a brother, Larry Taylor, a sister,
Wanda (Ingram) Taylor, a son, Roy Wayne Taylor, a daughter Linda Beth (Taylor) Dorrough and a son-in-
law, John Ketcher.

Survivors include; two daughters, Rhonda Ketcher of Anadarko and Patricia Taylor of Anadarko;
grandchildren Brad Collins and wife Christina, Kevin Pyle and wife Heather, Shane Nimsey and wife
Amber, Amy Taylor, Amber Taylor, Christy Pyle, Tyler Davis and wife Mandy, Brandi Scott and husband
Brian, and Aaron Dorrough and wife Sydney; great grandchildren Jacob Pyle, Madison Hawpe, Emma
Collins, Andrew Collins, Briley Nimsey, Roy Blaine Taylor, Rylie Taylor, Anna Beth Scott, Erica Lynn Scott,

Losing You is like Losing A Family Member. I Always Appreciated the Many Ways You Were There For Me and all The Ways You Stood Up for Me. I Thank God For You Being In My Life!!! I Know You Are Walking On Those Golden Streets. You More Than Earned Your Place. I will see you again someday. While we are left here to mourn and hate to see you go, there are those who are already there excitedly saying Here He Comes.  My Love & Prayers go out to Rhonda, Patricia & all the Grandkids. May The Angels Lead Ron into Paradise. One of My Mentors in My Life. He believed in Me and gave me a different outlook on Law Enforcement. I know he lived as a Humble man to others, Great family man and a Friend. His Grand children is His Joy, of what I seen. I will always remember His smile in laughter. I was honored to have known Ron and Jean for the short time that I did. Very caring and considerate people and I’m very saddened by their respective passings. I’m praying for comfort for the family and hope that they’ll be reunited in the Everafter.
