Betty Ruth Webber, 93, of Hobart, Oklahoma, passed away December 28, 2018. She was born on March 4, 1925 in Greer County, Oklahoma to Paul Williams and Clytie (Garrett) Lee. She attended Lake Creek and Granite public schools.

While working at the Kiowa County courthouse in the mid-1940’s she first met Louis Webber, a returning veteran of the War in the Pacific, when he went there to file his honorable discharge with the county clerk. They were married on June 29, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and loved and laughed together until his death March 12, 1996.

They lived in Weatherford after their marriage, where Louis attended Southwestern State University, and she worked on campus as a department staff person. They eventually returned to Hobart, where Louis worked as a pharmacist/co-owner of Boothe Drug Store, then the Village Pharmacy. In addition to being a wife and mother, Betty found time to help part-time at the pharmacy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was active as a choir member, Sunday school teacher, a member of the UMW, the Mary Styron Prayer Group, and other activities.

She is survived by two sons: Jimmy Webber and wife Diane of Dallas, Texas, and David Webber of Hobart; two grandchildren: Kristin Elizabeth Webber of Dallas and James Joshua Webber and wife Jessica, also of Dallas; and a brother-in-law, Charles Matheny of Granite/Lake Creek.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis Webber, one infant son William Mark, one brother Robert Lee, and 5 sisters: Leona Catherine Lee, Pauline Wilhite, Eloise George, Imogene Scott, and Mildred Matheny.
